Desert Womb

Desert Womb is a deeply evocative project exploring the profound aspects of motherhood, femininity, and the awe-inspiring landscape of the white desert in southern Israel. Through the lens of my camera, I captured the essence of a dear friend, inviting her to let her soul bird guide her through this transformative experience. In this collaboration, an extraordinary occurrence unfolded. My friend's energy emanated a remarkable sense of self-contained power, illustrating a personal journey and a profound connection to her own body. Throughout the project, she occasionally placed her hand on her lower stomach, emphasizing the symbolism of her presence as a fetus. Remarkably, just a week after the filming, it was revealed that she was 12 weeks pregnant. This revelation added another layer of significance to the project, highlighting the astonishing insight of our bodies and the subconscious mind. Even before our conscious minds could comprehend the news, her body had already sensed the truth. While this project ultimately encompassed a bittersweet reality, it stands as a powerful testament to the innate wisdom within our physical beings. The visuals captured and the emotions evoked serve as a poignant reminder of the profound connections we share with our bodies and the mysterious depths of our unconscious minds.
